WHY ENROLL? You can’t afford NOT to.
Union apprenticeships are the only avenue for a prospective tradesman to learn a trade and earn a paycheck, with regular increases in pay, tied to skills learned and hours worked. Thirty eight cents an hour for every hour worked by our members is paid into the training centers’ trust fund. This funding is part of our union negotiated contract. Apply apprenticeships toward college credits. It is also possible to earn an associate degree while you are completing your apprenticeship. Most of the trade or vocational schools today make an adult student pay tuition to attend, with no regular pay increases or a guaranteed wage at the completion of their schooling. As an apprentice in our program after a period of time you would also have health coverage and be earning credit in our pension program, benefits to you that other trade schools do not offer.

You would also be a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and be working under the protection of a union contract for a signatory contractor which means:
  • Good wages. Union worker’s pay and benefits are 33% higher than that of non-union workers according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics
  • Benefits include health insurance and pension plan
  • Continued skill training. Access to the best training in the industry throughout your whole career
