ABOUT THE TRAINING FUND/JATC
The Carpenters District Council of Kansas City and Vicinity Apprenticeship and Training Fund (Training Fund) is a trust fund administered jointly by labor and contractor Trustees. The Trustees oversee the receipt of employer contributions required by collective bargaining agreements and the expenditure of Fund assets for training and administration. The day-to-day operation of the apprenticeship and training programs is conducted by the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) pursuant to Apprenticeship Standards developed by the union and employers and approved by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship Training, Employer and Labor Services. The JATC is a joint committee of labor and contractor representatives appointed by the union and employers pursuant to the Apprenticeship Standards. The Training Fund and JATC provide apprenticeship and journeyperson training opportunities at the Fund’s training centers in the western parts of Iowa and Missouri, and all of Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska.
